Meet the Team
Megan Leckie, Co-Founder
Megan grew up in an international environment. She is a big believer in community action and has worked with young people since she was a teenager. Megan is well versed in the relationships between places, people and digital storytelling; she holds a postgraduate qualification in Town Planning and a BA in Film and Screen Studies, both from the University of Brighton. Megan spends her free time at the cinema, socialising, reading, and gaming.
Joe Palmer, Co-Founder
A natural problem solver, Joe is constantly seeking ways to optimise the technological workflows at BlockBuilders by integrating geospatial 3D modelling and Artificial Intelligence, which provide better results for both the end user and the client. Joe holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Design from the University of Brighton. He enjoys engaging in woodworking and renewable energy hacks with recycled hardware in his spare time.
Otis Ward, Game Designer
Otis has been a key member of BlockBuilders’ game design team for over two years, building Corfe Castle for Xbox and Rivercraft for the Environment Agency. He has greatly contributed to improving our methods within building by introducing World Edit which drastically enhances the quality and efficiency of our projects. He completed A-Levels in Photography and Philosophy, is currently studying Level 2 Blacksmithing and skateboards in his spare time.
Bee Barnett, Copywriter + Game Designer
Bee copywriters for the BlockBuilders website and has created video content for BlockBuilders’ social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. Bee edited our ‘building a Minecraft boat in real life’ series, gaining over a million views. Bee completed three A* A-Levels in Philosophy, Psychology, English and EPQ. They are studying Philosophy & Linguistics at Oxford and enjoy creative writing and making fashion-based online content in their spare time.
Ella Meldrum, Digital Media Designer
Ella creates visual assets for Minecraft to help positively develop users’ experience and overall gameplay. She designed the textured cover for our Minecraft boat built for a charity event and she has retextured and created new Minecraft mobs for our National Highways project. Ella is completing A-Levels in Psychology, Art and Media Production and she reads and plays guitar in her spare time.
Isaac Manclus, Junior Developer
Isaac works in game development for BlockBuilders, coding functions in-game and working with command blocks. He has worked on coding passwords for items such as levers within projects and created a guide for new crafting recipes that is utilised by the rest of the team. Isaac is studying A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer science and he reads fantasy books in his spare time.
Alex Massie, Game Designer
Alex has played Minecraft since 2010 and is now a member of our game design team, additionally contributing to the historical research surrounding our Corfe Castle project. Alex completed A-Levels in Classical Civilisation, Medieval History and a Digital Media Production BTEC. He is studying Classics at Oxford University and takes part in medieval re-enactment (such as archery and sword fighting) and stop-motion animation in his spare time.
